B&R Stores, Inc. Announces Acquisition of Joe’s Market in Loup City

Lincoln, Neb. March 31, 2023 – B&R Stores has announced that it will acquire Joe’s Market in Loup City, Nebraska, following the decision of its current owners, Joe and Pat Kowalski, to retire after 30 years of service. The sale is expected to be completed in May.

As part of the acquisition, B&R Stores is committed to retaining all of Joe’s Market’s valued employees. The company’s CEO and Chairman of the Board, Pat Raybould, expressed his excitement about the acquisition, saying, “We look forward, with great anticipation, to adding the team in Loup City to our family, serving Loup City and the surrounding communities, and taking great care of Joe and Pat’s loyal customers.”

Joe and Pat Kowalski expressed their gratitude to their loyal customers, dedicated employees, and the community of Loup City. Joe said, “We have thoroughly enjoyed serving Loup City while working alongside our wonderful employees, but we have decided it is now time for us to retire and explore the next chapter of our life.” He went on to express how thankful and grateful he is for all the wonderful people he has encountered over the years he has owned the store.

Joe’s Market has been a cornerstone of the Loup City community for three decades, providing a wide range of products and services to its customers. With the acquisition by B&R, the community can expect the same level of quality service and commitment to its customers.
