Jane Raybould Announces Retirement from B&R Stores, Inc.

March,26 2025 Lincoln, Nebraska

Jane Raybould, Vice President of B&R Stores, Inc., has announced her retirement after 22 years of dedicated service to the company. She will officially retire at the end of March 2025.

Reflecting on her time with B&R Stores, Raybould shared, “It is with a great deal of excitement that I look forward to this next chapter of spending more time with family, especially my granddaughters, and continuing my work in the legislature. I grew up in the grocery business by starting in the fireworks tent at 8 years old, then in the bakery department frying donuts, and throughout high school and college as a cashier and administrative support. Grocery people are the best people.”

Raybould expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work closely with her family, stating, “The most wonderful part of all this is that I got to work with my dad, Russ Raybould, and my brother, Pat Raybould. It is such a rare thing, a gift really, having a chance to work side by side with family members you love, admire, and respect—who also genuinely care for our customers and associates.”

Her retirement plans were long in the making and timed with the completion of the new Super Saver store project in Columbus, Nebraska. “Retirement was delayed while we did value engineering to get the construction costs more in line with our budget. Now, I leave the company in outstanding hands with an extraordinary, experienced leadership team and a third generation in the wings. I could not be prouder to have worked with this amazing group of individuals who have dedicated their lives to this wonderful company that many of us grew up in,” Raybould said.

“We often talk about the first store at 17th and Washington as ‘the little neighborhood store that just grew up.’ I am grateful to our hard-working associates, service providers, vendors, and wholesalers who have all contributed to the success of our company. We are in great hands for a very bright future!”

B&R Stores, Inc. was founded in 1964 by Russ and Anita Raybould. The family-owned company has grown to include several supermarket banners including Russ’s Market, Super Saver, Apple Market, Allen’s, Cash Saver, C&R Markets, Mason’s and Joe’s Market located in Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri.
